Studio Prevatt was founded in March 2024 by fashion designer Emily Prevatt. Her passion for fashion began in childhood when she dreamed of becoming a designer. Emily honed her skills at O’More College of Design, focusing on sewing, business, and design. She interned with a red carpet designer in New York City, solidifying her desire to design bridal and evening wear. After graduation, she mastered tailoring alongside a master tailor in Nashville, collaborating with renowned country music stylists and artists.

While working in the fashion industry, Emily pursued her dream of starting her own business. She created custom designs for celebrities and brides, tailored intricate bridal wear, and even worked on men’s suiting. Eager to learn more about design, tailoring, and business, she took on the challenge of opening her first storefront at just 24 years old. She successfully ran her business for four years, gaining valuable lessons in being her own boss.

After becoming a mother, Emily chose to prioritize her family and new daughter, Adaline. “I never knew my world would focus on anything but fashion until I saw my daughter; that's when everything changed.” Although her passion for design remained, her priorities shifted. As a woman and mother in the fashion industry, she often felt limited in her choices. Emily decided to embrace both roles by closing her storefront and moving her family to Columbia, Tennessee. Here, she discovered a way to balance motherhood and entrepreneurship. She is grateful to be at home with her daughter while taking clients at her home studio. “Some days it’s a juggling act, but I love it. My amazing husband and daughter are my biggest supporters; without them, it wouldn’t be possible.”
